Dunn Ranch & Pawnee Prairie
On the wide-open rolling expanses of Dunn Ranch and Pawnee Prairie, the prairie chicken still performs its colorful spring "booming"; the upland sandpiper's ghostly call carries in the wind; and regal fritillary butterflies alight on gorgeous coneflowers. This preserve is home to a suite of grassland birds, including greater prairie chickens, Henslow's sparrows, upland sandpipers, sedge wrens and grasshopper sparrows. A vast array of native wildflowers and grasses can also be found here, including little bluestem, big bluestem, switch grass, Indian grass, rattlesnake master, prairie violet, and downy blue gentian. Edna Cuddy Memorial House and Gardens
This Victorian style home was built in 1883 for James P. Hamilton, long involved in the hardware business in Bethany, on plans drawn by architect Edmond Eckel of St. Joseph, Missouri. The house is of 18th Century Italianate Design; the house has two stories and a full basement. In 1985 the house was listed in the National register of historic Places. In December of 1982, the house was offered to the Harrison County Historical Society be the late Roberta C. Cuddy Koch and George Koch, Kansas City Missouri. Mrs. Koch gave the house as a memorial to her mother Edna Washington Cuddy to be known as the Edna Cuddy Memorial House and Gardens. The house is open several times during the summer months. Memorial Park
Memorial Park is the city's oldest park and includes several shelters that can be utilized for picnics. Three ball diamonds, and a variety of playground equipment for the children provide wholesome fun for the entire family. A variety of shade trees provide cool spots to rest and enjoy the scenery.
